843 CORONATION ROAD

Project overview

843 CORONATION ROAD in Park Royal, London is an industrial unit at the end of its tenancy. We were instructed to carry out the works by the tenant. Our brief was to refurbish, revive and renew the complete unit including warehouse, offices, welfare facilities and external repairs. Safe access was established to the roof which comprised of asbestos cement sheeting. A number of these asbestos sheets had to be removed and replaced, asbestos guttering cleaned, moss and lichens removed, and all existing rooflights refurbished. The works were completed within an overall time on site of 4 weeks; this was non-negotiable due to the lease expiry date.

Key Objectives

As with any dilapidations, the objective was to enable the tenant to present back to the landlord their property ready to re-let.

Whilst the deadline was non-negotiable, health and safety was not compromised especially when considering access to the roof.  In addition to handrails, scaffolding, staging and harnesses; we also installed a fall arrest safety net underneath the roof which spanned inside the entire warehouse.
